I have lost all faith in humanity. In 17 years, I learnt one thing – if you’re not rich, you’re nothing. We all talk about how money isn’t everything, blah blah blah. But come on, look around you.
Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy weight was more important to us than the thousands dying in Syria. Miley Cyrus twerking is talked about, but issues like the crisis in Egypt, Libya, the whole of Africa is forgotten. Why? Because these countries don’t have the power. They don’t matter to us, so we forget. We ignore the fact that all human life is important, all human life is priceless.
By no means am I saying that the Boston bombings weren’t unfortunate. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the bombing. But at the same time, do we even care about the bomb blasts happening in Pakistan or Iraq? No, we don’t. Why? Because they don’t matter to us. No matter where, loss of innocent life is tragic. But the fact that we report about Paris Hilton more than terror attacks hurts me.
We don’t care about anything but power. We care about the ones who have the money, the influence. We don’t care about the poor, we don’t care if the starve or die of a disease that could be prevented. But oh my goodness, Justin Bieber sneezes and the entire world prays for him.
See, I have nothing against celebrities. They earned their spots and they deserve to be cared for. But at the same time, the others, the non-famous people deserve the same care and attention. They deserve to be loved, to be taken care of, to be treated like Humans.
